The story:
I have been a teacher of voice and piano lesson for 20 years. As Miss Ohio and a Runner-up to Miss America, I not only paid off my student loans, but was also able to promote my passion about getting folks to support their local charities and non profits in a real and influential way. For 20 years I have produced and organized creative fund raising events for non profits and charities. The PR and Marketing I learned landed me a job at NBC as a reporter and helped me continue a career in performing. Last year I was in the Tony award winning Broadway musical, COMPANY, as a leading role.
With today’s economy I felt it was the right time to combine all that I love to do; teaching, performing, marketing and working to raise awareness and funding for charities. This has led me to develop THE POWERFUL IMAGE EVENTS.

SLAM GLAM, STYLE SEMINAR (an evening with the pros)

The "Healthy Cocktail Party" was a wonderful event and opportunity to bring people together! Last night we held our third “Martini and Make-up” event with Kristin Huffman and the Powerful Image team . It was a sold out event! Parents, former Board Members, Staff, friends and area business owners attended. The Chocolate Martinis were a big hit and everyone enjoyed the make up demonstrated by Kristin and a professional make up artist, Drew Mancuso. It was so much fun no one wanted to leave!
The West Haven Child Development Center, Inc. has received $1,200 in donations from these events. Special thanks to Teddi and Archell’s for providing the perfect place to host our events. The next one is fast approaching and with the buzz that they are generating, I am sure we will be turning people away.

The Broadway Babes Cabaret Review is a fabulous entertainment. They combine the best of Broadway belting talent with a repertoire of great show tunes, presented beautifully. The generosity of Kristin, her team (including husband Andrew) and her fellow performers and also the community for extending their interest in the special needs community was overwhelming. They have no idea of the lives they have touched. And to have the chance to expand the awareness of the special needs community was wonderful. The money raised from the cabaret helped so many families put their children in a place where they would not have otherwise been exposed to. The success of this program has been overwhelming.

Kristin Huffman – and company! – were absolutely AMAZING in their recent production of a “family cabaret” fundraiser for Lutheran Social Services Adoption Program on Valentines Day!! Each and every performer was “star quality” and, under Kristin’s direction, they cleverly and masterfully integrated songs and musical numbers to appeal to young and old alike!! Children in the audience were able to participate and were mesmerized by the talented performers and singing and dancing waitstaff delivered snacks and sold raffle tickets – an incredible “team effort” that raised over $1,000 for our adoption program – quite an amazing feat and MUCH needed in our struggling economy!! We’re hoping we can make this an annual event!!
