One of the best professional experiences in my life was when I played Sarah as well as flute, sax and piccolo in the Tony award winning musical "Company". In addition to the Tony award we won a Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League Award for Best Revival of a Musical. The production was filmed and aired on PBS's Great Performances.
While I continue to perform, I also founded The New Paradigm Theatre
(www.nptheatre.org) a 501(c)(3) nonprofit theatre fostering creative problem solvers, leaders, and global citizens through theatre arts education and productions. I love producing and hiring excellent talent.
My performing career has spanned over 25 years professionally performing with operas, theatres, and symphonies around the country and in Europe. I especially enjoy comedic roles and call my type: "Leading Lady, left of center".

Being a former Miss Ohio and Runner-Up Miss America was a bit of a finishing school for this athlete and performer. While I hope that the Miss America program begins updating its image with powerful women in charge, I will say that it helped me in understanding how PR and your branding are important in the world of Entertainment. I am also proud that my "platform" issue of drawing more attention and volunteers to altruistic endeavors and organizations has carried on throughout my life. One of the joys of running New Paradigm Theatre is in taking underserved youth and privileged youth TOGETHER to volunteer at the soup kitchens and to serve many other non profits.
While I am all three things, Performer, Producer and Professor, it is my teaching, with over 25 years of experience in private voice lessons and master classes, that reflects who I really am at heart. My goal is to teach people much more than just how to sing.
